In August 2016 the government launched their new strategy to tackle child obesity.  Although the report focuses mainly on primary school age children it does identify that nearly 1/3 of children aged 2 to 15 are overweight or obese, putting their health at risk.

In early years we undoubtedly have a responsibility to actively promote healthy lifestyles and what better way than by being positive role models ourselves.  To achieve this we must learn about healthy eating and exercise so we have the necessary expertise and skills to support our children and their families.
